Character: Ruby
Fandom: Supernatural
Personality: Unlike most of her demon brethren, Ruby remembers what it feels like to be human. This is because she was once a human, but she sold her soul to another demon. Most demons have forgotten about their humanity; therefore don’t have the baggage that comes along with having those emotions with them. Whereas most people that go to hell become demons and are subject to the various traumas and activities that hell has to offer which drain them of their humanity.

Though she may act and feel many human emotions, Ruby is still a demon. With that, she had her own agenda and doesn’t like it when things get in her way. When it comes to danger, she’s all about saving her own ass before thinking about saving someone else. In addition to being self-sufficient, she is very modern considering that she was around when the plague was making its way through Europe. This indicates that she is smart even when she pretends not to be and she can be a bit snarky at times. There is one thing that she retains from her life as a human and that is her advanced knowledge of witchcraft. Her strong personality can be a little too much at times, but it helps get things going. When Sam doesn’t have the motive to do things, she will often drive him to do them; such as trying to save Dean and to help Sam with his psychic (demonic) abilities so that he can one day fight Lilith.

Ever since becoming involved with Sam, Ruby’s softened up; but not a whole lot. She’s still the same, evil and conniving demon she’s always been and won’t back down from what she’s made her mind up on. Maybe being away from the influence of Lilith and other demon’s Ruby will be able to change a lot more than she has already.

Sample log entry:A groan came from Ruby as she pushed herself from the cold and slightly damp ground of the forest that she woke up in; this wasn’t the place that she last remembered, then again she had expected to open her eyes and see Hell. The soft light that was coming through the tree tops was almost startling to her. Was she some place different or was this all a trick on her part? She ran a hand through her hair and bit onto her bottom lip. She attempted to see if this was all some clever trick, but it seemed to be a little too real to be something like that.

“Well, this is unexpected and very welcoming,” there was a slightly smug tone to her voice but as she started walking she could feel the slight pain where Dean had stabbed her with her own demon blade. Feeling around her body, she felt that she still had it on her and that was a relief. She didn’t understand how she got here, but she was sure that in time she’d find out. Since there was no use to her standing around in some strange forest, Ruby started walking. She didn’t have an inkling of where she was going, but she was bound to find sometime if she looked for it.

After several minutes of walking, she finally came across something that was looking promising to her. She wondered if there was anyone in this town that she’d be able to sucker into helping her and telling her where she was. It didn’t seem that Sam was around and from what she remembered, she doubted that he’d be happy with her. And if Dean was around, she really needed to start heading for the hills.
